Let's stop obsessing over trivial things...

How often do we obsess over what we don’t have, what we want, and how to get it? How often do we stand in the mirror obsessing over our hair, makeup, clothes, and how to improve our appearance? I struggle to write about these things feeling so convicted, but still it must be talked about. The simple fact is we spend very little time in fellowship with God and with one another but an incredible amount of time obsessing over our lives, wants, likes, dislikes, appearance, and more.

I challenge you along with myself to spend less time obsessing over trivial things and spend more time in fellowship with God and in fellowship with one another. Let’s pray for one another and encourage one another, and let’s spend more time praising the Lord for His grace and unfailing love.

Grace & Peace

Do you have Christian Community?

As believers we are instructed in God's word to come together for fellowship with Christ and one another. One way to accomplish this is through Christian community. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” 1 John 1:7. “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching…” Hebrews 10:24. Christian community should not be about being in a social clique and it should extend beyond attending church. What it should be about is a body of believers coming together as one in Christ to share, love and care for one another. We should come together as the body of Christ to pray and worship with one another. We also should come together to help meet the needs of others. If we study the meaning of Jesu...

We’ve all had days or long seasons when life has become so full of challenges that it seems nothing is going as we’d hoped! I’ve had long seasons where the plans I’ve made or what I’ve set out to accomplish was somehow diverted by some unforeseen circumstance. Everything I attempted to resolve matters and regain momentum failed. Well I’ve just come out of one of those long. Seasons. The good news is it didn’t last. The bad news is it was painful. There are scars and residue that ensure the pain and lessons will not be forgotten.  In the grand scheme of things, a hectic day doesn’t impact life or eternity all that much, but when a day becomes days that evolve into an extended season of financial strain, a lack of provision, various other challenges, it leads to feelings of frustration, uncertainty, and can seem overwhelming.  Here are 7 things that have helped me through those unforeseen, difficult seasons in life. My sincerest prayer is that these reminders will h...

Can I encourage you today to stop judging yourself?

Do you struggle with self-acceptance? So many of us tend to compare ourselves to others and then we pass judgment on ourselves and determine that we come up short. Why is it that we don't seem to appreciate who God created us to be? Why can't we simply be happy with who we are? Do you experience this feeling of low self-worth? I know I sometimes do. God created us differently for a reason. Each being is unique in his or her own way; we're uniquely crafted individuals purposely formed by God for God. When we are critical and judge one another, we are judging God’s work and when we judge ourselves, we are actually saying to God that we don’t like what He made. Sometimes we have to dig deep to find self-acceptance because when we don't accept ourselves as God made us, we not only reject His workmanship, but we open up a huge opportunity for our discontent to grow and expand into other areas of our lives. “ We are God’s workmanship” (Ephesians 2:10). Are you constantly ...
