God is preparing each of us to be the vessel He wants to use in the life of another person...

I read this today and it fits with what I believe God is speaking to me…

"Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah"... - 1 Samuel 22:5

When life beats down on us and we get to the place where we want to hide in a cave, God often places people around us who prod us into moving in the right direction. He does not want us to remain in the place of discouragement. He wants us to move into the land of "praise." Judah means "praise."

"You must keep moving! There are too many who are depending on you in the Kingdom." I didn't totally understand what he meant at the time. Now I know he was saying that God is preparing each of us to be the vessel He wants to use in the life of another person, but we will never be that vessel if we give up and hide in our cave of discouragement. Not only must we keep moving, we must move into a new realm. Our attitude must move from discouragement to praise. It is when we move past discouragement to praise that we begin living above our problems. Make a decision today to go into the land of Judah.

  1. I've been feeling a lot like hiding in a cave lately. Not because of being discouraged, but because of being tired and dealing with my fibro. But I do feel tht God has been nudging me lately to quit thinking so much about myself and get out there in the kingdom where I can help others. Thanks for the encouragement.

I like this. I really like that you mentioned living above your problems. Praising God does some amazing things. I need to do it more

Can I encourage you today to stop judging yourself?

Do you struggle with self-acceptance? So many of us tend to compare ourselves to others and then we pass judgment on ourselves and determine that we come up short. Why is it that we don't seem to appreciate who God created us to be? Why can't we simply be happy with who we are? Do you experience this feeling of low self-worth? I know I sometimes do. God created us differently for a reason. Each being is unique in his or her own way; we're uniquely crafted individuals purposely formed by God for God. When we are critical and judge one another, we are judging God’s work and when we judge ourselves, we are actually saying to God that we don’t like what He made. Sometimes we have to dig deep to find self-acceptance because when we don't accept ourselves as God made us, we not only reject His workmanship, but we open up a huge opportunity for our discontent to grow and expand into other areas of our lives. “ We are God’s workmanship” (Ephesians 2:10). Are you constantly ...

“Do something that you enjoy every day”

Doing things that we love to do helps us to relax. Often times I find that when it’s something I love doing I take my time doing it and lose all sense of time, which means I am really enjoying what I am doing! I love to write, so I’ve dedicated time to write something everyday. I’ve also made time to find new recipes to cook a new dish and I have done some baking too! I like to paint and draw, so those are next on my list. I’m also grateful for the time I have to do some reading. The weather is also getting better so I’m thinking about swimming soon! I went for a walk and thought about my rollerblades sitting in the closet, so I will be getting those out this weekend if it doesn’t rain! These are just some of the things that I like to do.  Maybe you own a bike, so go for a ride. Call up some friends and just sit and have coffee or see a movie. You might enjoy gardening, or putting together flower arrangements. Perhaps you like bowling, or working out at the gym. Make a l...

Obsessed with exercising again!

I've become obsessed with exercising again. Next to God and my family, its one of the things I think about most, ok and good food too! I just woke up one day and decided I'm so sick and tired of feeling unhealthy and not being physically fit and not doing anything consistently to change it. I want this to become a life style and not just sporadic impulses of going crazy exercising and losing a bunch of weight and then falling into a slump and gaining the weight back. My struggles with weight has been a constant battle since my early 30's and it doesn't seem to get any better as I get older. Determined to stay focused and shed the weight!
