God is preparing each of us to be the vessel He wants to use in the life of another person...

I read this today and it fits with what I believe God is speaking to me…

"Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah"... - 1 Samuel 22:5

When life beats down on us and we get to the place where we want to hide in a cave, God often places people around us who prod us into moving in the right direction. He does not want us to remain in the place of discouragement. He wants us to move into the land of "praise." Judah means "praise."

"You must keep moving! There are too many who are depending on you in the Kingdom." I didn't totally understand what he meant at the time. Now I know he was saying that God is preparing each of us to be the vessel He wants to use in the life of another person, but we will never be that vessel if we give up and hide in our cave of discouragement. Not only must we keep moving, we must move into a new realm. Our attitude must move from discouragement to praise. It is when we move past discouragement to praise that we begin living above our problems. Make a decision today to go into the land of Judah.

  1. I've been feeling a lot like hiding in a cave lately. Not because of being discouraged, but because of being tired and dealing with my fibro. But I do feel tht God has been nudging me lately to quit thinking so much about myself and get out there in the kingdom where I can help others. Thanks for the encouragement.

I like this. I really like that you mentioned living above your problems. Praising God does some amazing things. I need to do it more

Aunt Faye, I wish you perfect and peaceful rest in the loving arms of our Lord in heaven.

Today I learned that my aunt passed away. She was always so kind to me and always greeted me with a sweet smile, hugs and kisses, even when I got older and would only see her every few years. I keep thinking of how she would always remind me that she and I have the same birthday. I loved hearing her say that when I was a child; perhaps it was just that she made me feel so special like we had a unique and special connection because we shared the same birthday. I don’t know, I guess it seems silly thinking about how excited I would get about her as a child. As we grow older we don’t think it’s so important to hear those same things over and over until the day comes when that person is no longer with us to say those words. I’ll hold on to those words and seeing her sweet smile and the warmth that I still feel when I think of her kind heart . Aunt Faye, I wish you perfect and peaceful rest in the loving arms of our Lord in heaven.

Do you have Christian Community?

As believers we are instructed in God's word to come together for fellowship with Christ and one another. One way to accomplish this is through Christian community. “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” 1 John 1:7. “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching…” Hebrews 10:24. Christian community should not be about being in a social clique and it should extend beyond attending church. What it should be about is a body of believers coming together as one in Christ to share, love and care for one another. We should come together as the body of Christ to pray and worship with one another. We also should come together to help meet the needs of others. If we study the meaning of Jesu...

Great time at the single women's group

This morning I had the pleasure of attending a single women's group. I was so moved by the women who spoke today. I thank God for encouraging us in our faith, strength, direction and patience. God reminded us that when we yield to His Spirit and remain in relationship with Him, we can be content in all things and all circumstances. God has purpose for each of us and today I believe He gave us more confidence and boldness to pursue our purpose in Christ.
